AirReferee Solution

AirReferee technology description...

Rotani’s AirReferee™ is a next-generation wireless hardware and software reference design that makes wireless LANs interference-resistant.  AirReferee™ combines standard off-the-shelf 802.11x radios with Rotani’s patent-pending antenna architecture and methods of operation in a multi-radio configuration.

AirReferee™ solves interference, making wireless networks truly scalable. It sustains radio performance in real-life conditions, providing consistent high-quality links required for multimedia networking. Rotani’s product is backwardly compatible with standard 802.11x clients. And it provides a cost-effective, easy to implement product that is fundamental to all 802.11x wireless networks.

VideoPuck Solution

Error-Free Wireless Multicast

PROBLEM: Multicast video streams over standard 802.11x result in screen pixilation and poor video quality. VideoPuck solves this problem and provides 100% error-free video quality over 802.11x.

VideoPuck technology description...

Issues With Wireless Multicast: IPTV video is transported via multicast or point-to-point UDP data transfer, which were designed to operate over wired networks that have relatively low error-rates (10ˉº) and do not correct for lost or corrupted data packets. Wireless systems, including 802.11b/g and 802.11n have significantly higher error-rates (10ˉ) than traditional wired solutions. Even under optimum conditions, the error-rate for wireless system result in unacceptable screen pixilation and poor video quality. In addition, 802.11 standard is not optimal for multicast. The combination of these issues severely limits 802.11x for UDP based video applications.

SOLUTION: VideoPuck™ meets the need of carriers that are deploying IPTV services with their existing base of wireless home data networks. The VideoPuck™ system is a low-cost solution that is easily combined with the existing ADSL/WiFi Routers.

VideoPuck Benefits:

  • Error-Free

  • Zero Configuration

  • Reliable Performance

  • Low-Cost

VideoPuck™ systems are available for evaluation and trial.
